Certified Professional Midwife

Certified Professional Midwives are regulated on a state-by-state basis. This means that statutes, licensure titles, name of midwifery boards, and the oversight regulatory agencies vary from state-to-state. To find out the specific information for the seventeen states that regulated CPMs, please refer to the State Board Chart.

The legal status of CPMs changes as states adopt new statutes and rules and regulations. Visit this page for state-by-state updates.

If you are attempting to get licensure and need verification of your CPM, NARM must have a signed release. The releases are in PDF format and can be accessed through the link on the left. The release forms are also available from NARM.
